Hi all --

Listening to last week's OPAL meeting, I think I can offer some clarification on "boundwith" records.

The migration process creates a "virtual" bib record to "hold" the individual bibs. The virtual item is represented by the barcode. Every "work" bound together still has its own
full bib record that is tied to the virtual "boundwith" record - sort of like a mobile with several items tied to a single hanger or something like that, lol! Or maybe like the virtual record is the barcoded "cover" of the book holding the individual works
together. Hope this helps clarify, but it's an attempt... so these really shouldn't need cleanup unless they somehow didn't migrate properly (ours did).

You can search Alma physical titles for "boundwith" to find these virtual records, then click the "other details" tab, and click on the "related records" link to see the associated
bibs to check whether they came over properly.
