In previous OPAL Migration meetings, we’ve talked about internal users, i.e., users that (typically) cannot sign in via SSO, are not loaded via SIS load and have an Alma user name and password.

Specifically, we highlighted that, at or around go-live, you’d need to run a job that sets an initial password and emails it to your internal users. We also talked about the challenges in doing that: you’d
need to ensure that you exclude any users having roles other than the “patron” role (to avoid changing staff or Ex Libris user accounts) and that you’d likely need to give users a heads-up that they’d be receiving their password via email.

To mitigate the need to do all of this, we’ve added an option to your Primo sign-in for internal users that will allow your internal users to reset their password. While it still may be advantageous to run
the job and send the password via email, adding the password reset option makes it less critical to do so.

Finally, if you want to change the language of the password reset link, you can do that using the Primo labels. Specifically, under Discovery > Display Configuration > Labels > User Login Labels, the “Forgot
your password?” text will be listed under code nui.help.login.link1 or
nui.help.login.link2, depending on the order of your Primo sign-in options (under Configuration > Discovery > Authentication > User Authentication).
