Hello everyone,
We've reached our first migration milestone today - all the draft migration forms and P2E files have been uploaded in Basecamp! As ExLibris reviews these and makes recommendations, we will update the forms or contact you if there are any questions.
Next up are the eResource activation forms. We'll be talking about these more during the upcoming OPAL ILS Migration Conversation on May 17. If you don't subscribe to anything outside of OhioLINK or just have a handful of local subscriptions that you plan on activating manually you do not need to fill out the form. Because of the complexity of the form, it's worth considering skipping it and just setting up everything in Alma once we get access. Just let ExLibris know through Basecamp (Institution Folder for your Migration Form since they seem to prefer that).
If you do opt to fill out the form, here's what's involved:
1. Start from the OhioLINK versions of the eResources Activation Form since they have the OhioLINK resources marked already. Then you'll add to the OhioLINK eResources Activation Form any of your OhioLINK opt-in resources (from the second spreadsheet listed here<https://3.basecamp.com/3765443/buckets/36778639/messages/7349425950>).
1. After you've done that, you'll add your local subscriptions. Specifically, you'll need to go through all of your subscriptions for aggregated or selective packages and find them in the spreadsheet. If you subscribe to the entire package, you'll add "Y" to the "ACTIVATE?" column; if you only subscribe to specific titles within the package, you'll add "BY_TITLES" to the "ACTIVATE?" column and then add the individual titles to the "TITLES" sheet.
1. For all of your individual titles, e.g., a single journal title you subscribe to that's not part of a package, you'll need to first go to the last line of the SELECTIVE_PKG tab, labelled "STANDALONE," and change the "ACTIVATE" column to "BY_TITLES" and then list all of those titles on the "TITLES" sheet as well.
Finally, we've scheduled bi-weekly OPAL Migration Project Lead Meetings<https://info.opal-libraries.org/calendar> starting on May 31 at 10 am. These are intended as a working space for the details of the migration process. Think of them as drop-in project lead office hours for discussion and Q&A as you are able to attend, or specific questions arise. We will continue to post action items and updates to this listserv and on the migration pages of the web site.
Have a good weekend!
Best,
Heidi
