Hi Heidi,
I was out last week for a medical procedure and am just now seeing this. Unfortunately, Elizabeth, who knows more about this than anyone else here, is out this week! I remember that she and I had half a discussion about this a few weeks ago, but I don't know if she communicated with anyone there.
Will it be a tragedy if we have less than 20 (I really don't know what we might have) and don't fill out the form?
So sorry for the tardiness (and cluelessness on my part),
Lee

Good afternoon,
This week Ex Libris sent out Basecamp messages asking if libraries intend to submit eResources activation forms (deadline is May 24). Please let us know what you decide. If you are on the fence, here are suggestions to help you weigh options:
Consider filling out the form only if you have fewer than 20 opt-ins and local subscriptions or want to test out the process by selecting a representative sample of your holdings. Otherwise, it's a very tedious exercise and your time is better spent making sure you know what your current subscriptions and entitlements are and setting those later directly in Alma.
If you do decide to submit the form, read on -
* The OhioLINK Database by Access Type<https://www.ohiolink.edu/content/list_databases_access_type> spreadsheet (Ostaff) and OPAL web site EDS Database and Holdings<https://info.opal-libraries.org/eds/holdings-management> pages provide a baseline checklist to work from i.e., they can help you determine what's jointly subscribed, opt-in via OL, and locally subscribed (also check Consortia Manager for subscriptions through OhioNet).
* Start by downloading a copy of the "OhioLINK_E-Resource Activation Form_formembers" (rename for your institution) from Basecamp<https://3.basecamp.com/3765443/buckets/36778639/messages/7349425950> which already has most of the resources that OL will manage in the CZ set to "N" in the "ACTIVATE?" column. OhioLINK is still working on some of the ACS and Elsevier packages and will make sure they are included for the final migration.
* Add to your sheet any OhioLINK opt-in resources you subscribe to and copy/paste them from the "OhioLINK opt-in resources Ex Libris KB" spreadsheet. These should be set to "Y" in the "ACTIVATE?" column. Since we're migrating out of EBSCO's EDS it's not necessary to include the opt-in (EDS) resources because they are likely going away. Note that anything identified as DATABASE instead of SELECTIVE_PKG or LICENSED_AGG will only link users to the platform, and they must search for content from there.
* Finally, add in any of your individually subscribed content. Use the "E-Resources activated in Vanguard not OL 2024" sheet to help you identify specific packages that match yours.
* Go through all your subscriptions for aggregated or selective packages and find them in the spreadsheet. If you subscribe to the entire package, you'll add "Y" to the "ACTIVATE?" column; if you only subscribe to specific titles within the package, you'll add "BY_TITLES" to the "ACTIVATE?" column. Then add the individual titles to the "TITLES" sheet.
* For all the single journal titles you subscribe to that are not part of a package, go to the last line of the SELECTIVE_PKG tab, labelled "STANDALONE," and change the "ACTIVATE?" column to "BY_TITLES". Then, list all those titles on the "TITLES" sheet as well. Ex Libris mentioned only entering the ISSN/ISBN and not the holdings/coverage information, but we recommend including those details to help with deduplication.
* Upload your version of the form to your institution's Migration Forms folder in Basecamp.
Thanks...and see you at tomorrow's OPAL ILS Migration Conversation<https://info.opal-libraries.org/calendar> for discussion and questions!
Heidi
