Hello everyone,

This week's focus areas for the Alma migration include -

The recording link<https://ohionet-org.zoom.us/rec/share/wiBp2WnPG94rA1ZZCu_gNiCb-fFDfl6OpjIrkrm7I1ameYbqk0zUNSDHB3hkQllM.EDaHDR6B8n-wmdGk?startTime=1727456481000&pwd=SxPXhox-3HenMm1vM6hDi38xqFXSZBSO> for the September 27 OPAL ILS Migration Conversation meeting has been posted<https://info.opal-libraries.org/alma/migration>. Lots of data review and test environment questions are covered!

Upcoming Meetings

  * OhioLINK/Ex Libris Project Leads Meetings: Core Concepts - Sets and Manual Jobs on Thursday, October 3 at 1 pm.
  * OPAL Biweekly Migration Project Lead Meeting on Friday, October 4 at 10 am.

Alma Login Credentials
This week you can use the spreadsheet sent with your login information to request additional users and roles (if any) that you would like us to set up so that they can participate in data review.

Data Review
Our goal during data review is to look at what was migrated and confirm everything transferred in the ways we expect. ExLibris will not open access to Configuration menus until around October 3. Please report any problems you find to Heid and Matt first so that we can record them, prioritize projects, and let you know if it's something that should also be posted to Basecamp or unique to OPAL and an issue we're already working on.

  * OPAL library staff have not been assigned the "admin" roles and will not see anything under the Configuration menu. For now, we're trying to make as few changes to how OPAL functions collectively until we have a better understanding of Alma and to give us time to explore options for broadening access to that functionality without overwhelming or burdening library staff. As a result, you can skip the location review portion of ExLibris' Data Review slide deck. If you see anything in your data that prompts questions about how your library and location information migrated, we're happy to double check that against the configuration spreadsheets.

  * If your ExLibris consultant refers to a large number of physical titles (bibs) in electronic locations under the migration notes, this is to be expected, and you don't need to worry about them. They reflect the OhioLINK electronic resources and the OPAL EBSCO ebooks. We're currently looking into how best to handle them for the final data extraction - whether we omit them, or it would be better to clean those up post-migration. Multimatch errors generally have to do with our ongoing merge process that runs for eResources and those records not matching up with data at the time of extraction. This is also being addressed for the final data pull.

  * Many of the OPAL libraries that we've looked at don't have a "Source Input Counts" tab in their Migration Statistics report in Basecamp. We've requested that tab be added for affected institutions.

Third Party Integrations
Last week's presentation covered 3rd party integrations. OhioLINK would like you to review the spreadsheet of available options and indicate which ones you are interested in by October 11. I've attached a copy of the spreadsheet and once it's filled out it should be posted in the comments section of the Basecamp posting<https://3.basecamp.com/3765443/buckets/36778639/uploads/7860101762>.
This is not for the purpose of ExLibris configuring the integrations. API's can be challenging to setup and maintain, so that will ultimately depend on local IT capacity and technical expertise. Primarily, this information will give OhioLINK a rough idea of how many API calls might be needed. ExLibris also pointed out that sometimes there are alternatives to using the integrations. For example, Leganto will do a lot of the same things as the course integration. If you have integration questions, please feel free to bring those to Friday's biweekly Project Leads meeting. For now, it's fine for you to indicate integrations you are interested in but not necessarily committing to. Nothing is binding and you can always add integrations later.

Training:

  *   All - Resource Management - Sets and Jobs<https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/@api/deki/files/170055/Resource_Management_-_Sets_and_Jobs.pdf>

Have a good week!

Best,
